Black Bumper Plates 3.0

ATE Black Bumper Plates 3.0 (Natural Rubber, IWF Spec)

Key specs at a glanceDiameter: 450mm (IWF) · Collar: 50.4mm stainless insert · Material: Natural rubber, 90 Shore · Weights: 5–25kg pairs + 150kg set · Warranty: 24 months

The ATE Black Bumper Plates 3.0 are an improved version over the previous 2.0 generation. These new bumper plates have low bounce and great impact absorption thanks to their construction from very high-quality natural rubber.

The ATE Black Bumper Plates are manufactured to IWF standard specification — 450mm in diameter with a 50.4mm collar opening and a hardened stainless steel insert that increases the durability of your bumpers and keeps your plates firmly in place even during intense training.

The design includes thicker raised flanges around the edge that help to firmly grip the plates. The thin profile also lets you load more plates on the barbell.

Key Features of the Black Bumper Plates 3.0

Image 1

Thin ProfileThe ATE Black Bumper Plates 3.0 have a thinner profile — e.g. the 25kg plate is reduced from 84mm to as little as 55mm — which means more plates can be loaded on the bar. This significantly increases the total weight you can load and helps with your 1RM lifts.

Image 2

Improved Matte FinishThe 3.0 plates come with a matte finish that looks great in person and on camera and is easy to clean — giving your commercial gym, home gym or CrossFit centre a premium appeal.

Image 3

Built to DropThe ATE Black Bumper Plates 3.0 are built to absorb dropping force — even from overhead — so you can prioritise safety while attempting new personal records, without damaging your platform, floor or barbell.

Image 4

Lower Bounce: With a durometer hardness of 90 Shore, the plates bounce less when dropped, transferring less force to the barbell and reducing impact on the insert. Low bounce also means more predictable bar behaviour, so you can train safely in small spaces.

Image 5

Raised Side FlangesThe raised side flanges keep the centre insert from contacting the ground. Plates only touch on the outer flanges when loaded or stored, reducing wear and protecting the plate lettering.

Image 6

Hardened Stainless Steel InsertA hardened stainless steel insert is CNC-machined to a precise 50.4mm bore for a snug fit on the barbell sleeves, reducing wiggle during lifts. The insert is quench-hardened to prolong the life of your bumpers.

Warranty Information: Black Bumper Plates 3.0 come with a 24-month warranty against manufacturing defects.

Frequently Asked Questions:

What are bumper plates and how are they different from iron plates?+

Bumper plates are weight plates made from dense rubber with a steel insert, designed to be dropped safely from height — essential for Olympic lifting and CrossFit. Unlike cast-iron plates, they absorb impact and protect your barbell, platform and floor, and every weight shares the same 450mm diameter so the bar always sits at the correct height.

Can I drop the ATE Black Bumper Plates 3.0 from overhead?+

Yes. They are built to absorb dropping force even from overhead, with a durometer hardness of 90 Shore for low bounce. This makes them ideal for snatches, clean & jerks and CrossFit workouts where the loaded bar is dropped after the lift.

What weights and sets are available?+

The Black Bumper Plates 3.0 are sold in pairs of 5kg, 10kg, 15kg, 20kg and 25kg, as well as a complete 150kg set. You can build your loadout by buying individual pairs or save with the full set.

Will these plates fit my barbell?+

Yes. They have a 50.4mm collar opening with a CNC-machined, hardened stainless steel insert, which fits standard Olympic barbell sleeves snugly and reduces wobble during lifts.

What is the diameter and why does it matter?+

All ATE Black Bumper Plates 3.0 are 450mm in diameter, the IWF standard. A consistent 450mm diameter means the bar always starts at the correct height from the floor regardless of the weight loaded, which is essential for deadlifts and the Olympic lifts.

What warranty do the bumper plates come with?+

The ATE Black Bumper Plates 3.0 carry a 24-month warranty against manufacturing defects. They are manufactured by Anand Track & Field Equipment Pvt. Ltd. in Meerut, India.
